Volvo Trucks this weekend unveiled its 2019 Ride for Freedom truck, a custom-designed VNL 760 that will lead a motorcade of motorcycles past 900,000 bystanders from its Dublin, Virginia-based plant to Washington, D.C., during the annual “Run for the Wall” Ride for Freedom motorcycle rally on Monday.
This marks the 28th year that Volvo employees at the company’s New River Valley plant and the UAW Local 2069 Veterans Committee have supported the event. The truck features custom-designed graphics that honor the U.S., the military and military vets with the slogan, “All veterans need a welcome home, and a place to reflect. Until they have a wall of their own, it’s only right to share ours.”
Likewise, a specially wrapped Mack Anthem tractor was unveiled as part of the NASCAR Salutes campaign, meant to express gratitude for those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, as well as honor those who have died in combat.
