Fleenor Bros. driver J.T. Picah, who has been with the company a little over three and a half years, showed one of the fleet’s newest rides, this 2022 Kenworth W900, at the 2022 Shell Rotella SuperRigs working truck show in Branson, Missouri, in June.
Fleenor Bros. President Kyle Cousins put the first 11,000 or so miles on the truck before handing over the keys to Picah, who at the time of SuperRigs in June, had increased the mileage on the odometer to about 25,000 in the month that he'd been driving the rig.
Picah started with Fleenor Bros. hauling mostly flatbed but has since transitioned to the company's reefer division. He now uses this '22 W9 to haul frozen foods out to California and bring fresh produce back to the Midwest, primarily the Chicago area.
Most of the work on the truck was done in-house at Fleenor Bros., including the drop bumper and drop visor. Southerland Bros. Air & Fab, out of Rosebud, Missouri, air-bagged the front end.
The truck is equipped with an 86-inch Kenworth Studio Sleeper, which also has an Espar bunk heater to cut down on idling time on cooler nights, particularly in emissions-strict California.
