Josh Argumaniz was only 20 years old at the time of the Peterbilt Pride & Class truck show and parade last fall, but the Hammett Excavation truck driver already had a solid 2.5 years of experience behind the wheel.
Dodd City, Texas-based Hammett Excavation, owned by Kaleb Hammett, does a lot of construction work around the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond, hauling company equipment to job sites.
Josh Argumaniz grew up around trucks and “always loved trucks since I was a kid,” as he put it.

He showed the 2016 Peterbilt 389 glider he drives for Hammett at the invitation-only Peterbilt show at the truck maker’s manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas.
The bright-yellow day cab wouldn’t be Argumaniz’s first choice of paint color, but he said he enjoys driving this one. You can't miss it, anyway. The rig is shown here rolling through downtown Denton, Texas, during the annual Pride & Class Parade.
Hammett has owned the truck for four to five years, and it was yellow when they bought it.

It features a 12 Ga. Customs air ride front end, 12 Ga. drop panels, Dynaflex stacks, custom T-bar and fenders made in-house at the Hammett shop.

The fenders are painted yellow with black accents, the T-bar the reverse.

Nearly all of the custom work on the rig was fairly new, as it was involved in an accident back in January 2025. During rebuild, Argumaniz said the Hammett team “wanted to keep it a simple, clean truck. Don’t want to overdo yellow too much.”
Under the hood is a 6NZ Cat with an 18-speed.
The interior also has a few custom touches -- yellow billiard balls on the shifter and brake knobs -- but otherwise is mostly stock.
The 389 is coupled to a 2025 Mac end dump that features matched fenders.

Josh Argumaniz: I've always loved trucks since I was a kid. Something I've grown up around them, just love them. So I always want to drive them, since I was a little kid.
Hi, my name is Josh Argumaniz. I work for Hammett Excavation up in Dodd City, Texas. I haul a lot of sand and gravel, pull this end dump every day.
Overdrive: How long have you been driving?
Josh Argumaniz: A little over two and a half years, I think.
Overdrive: How old are you now?
Josh Argumaniz: I'm 20, fixin' to be 21.
Overdrive: Can't quite cross state lines. Yeah.
Josh Argumaniz: Not yet.
It's a 2016 39 glider. It's got a 6NZ Cat, 18-speed behind it.
Overdrive: OK. How many miles does it have on it?
Josh Argumaniz: 623,000, I think. I had the truck for 4 or 5 years, and it's got a 12 Ga. air ride. 12 Ga. drop panels, Dynaflex stacks, and T-bar and fenders on the truck and trailer are custom made in our shop, and pretty much everything done on it was done in house.
Overdrive: Was it yellow when you got it?
Josh Argumaniz: Yes, sir. Yeah, I'm not a fan of yellow, but I like this truck. It stands out.
Overdrive: Y'all recently did a rebuild on it?
Josh Argumaniz: Yes, sir. Got into an accident with it back in January. Pretty much from the hood back, everything's brand new.
Brand-new trailer, 2025 Mac. Pretty much just want to keep it a simple, clean truck that's, don't want to overdo yellow too much.
Had the tanks wrapped, had the fenders wrapped, and front and rear T-bar in the truck painted. The yellow stripe painted on there, but everything else is pretty much how they bought it. Done our little touches here and there with it.
Overdrive: All right. Have you all done anything with the interior, or is it pretty much stock?
Josh Argumaniz: It's got little stuff, but it's, majority it's stock.
