XL Specialized unveiled two new trailers – a Mini-Deck Extendable and a Low-Profile Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck – at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky, this week.

The XL 110 Mini-Deck is the first of its kind in the U.S. market. The main deck features a loaded deck height of only 14 inches, achieved with a 10-inch beam design. Additionally, the trailer’s main deck expands from 27 feet to 47 feet with a total trailer length of 73 feet. The trailer has a capacity rating of 110,000 pounds.

The new trailer also has a unique auto-steering system in which the axles automatically rotate to keep the trailer behind the truck at all times. The kingpin rotates and prompts the axles to track with the truck using hydraulic cylinders. There is also a manual override that allows drivers to take control when needed.

The company also introduced its newly-designed Low-Profile HDG that offers a loaded deck height of just 15 inches.

The trailer has a 110,000 pound capacity and features a 13-foot gooseneck with a swing clearance of 110 inches. The hydraulic neck detaches and reattaches quickly using a power unit or a wet kit. The redesigned sloped nose of the gooseneck protects the air and electric connections from damage.

The neck also offers a five-position ride height. Based on neck position and load, the deck can be leveled as needed with the adjustable wheel area ride height.
