Doonan’s Series 2 V-channel trough flatbed coil-haul trailer is engineered for applications where coils cannot be transferred easily into and from a recess. The 44-foot-by-96-inch, 110,000-pound-GVWR trailer is designed to cradle 3-to-7-foot-diameter steel coils shotgun-style inside a V-shaped rubber-lined steel trough on the flatbed’s center surface, helping to cushion the coils. Safety features include a walkway on both sides of the channel for easier load inspection and tie-downs that can be applied from alongside the trailer to support coil securement via a sliding winch track on both sides. The all-steel tri-axle trailer also features a bulkhead, two main beams, an anti-lock braking system, Hendrickson’s HT Suspension and a sliding tarp system.
