HWC Transportation names Driver of the Year
HWC Transportation named George Dito the Luchious Eugene “Gene” Wren Driver of the Year for 2010. The company uses safety and security monitoring to rate its top drivers via scorecard. In addition, HWC Transportation awarded driver Mark Alloway with a new GMC Sierra Truck for having the highest monthly safety rating in 2010.
Con-way Truckload honors Drivers of the Year
Con-way Truckload recently announced its 2010 Drivers of the Year. The winners include both solo and team drivers who had been named Drivers of the Month in 2010. George Cook was named Company Driver of the Year, and Thomas and Joan Walter were named Company Team of the Year. John Newkirk was named Owner-Operator of the Year, and Bill and Vicki Bumgardner were named Owner-Operator Team of the Year.
MCT names Driver of the Month
Midwest Coast Transport has selected Daniel Allen as the MCT Driver of the Month for October 2010. Allen has driven with MCT since February 2008.
Schneider ranks in Security Magazine’s top 500 list
Schneider Truckload was recognized in Security Magazine’s Top 500 list of companies excelling in cargo and driver safety and security for 2010. Schneider earned a third-place ranking in the Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Distribution and Warehousing segment of the magazine’s list. Schneider also achieved double-digit improvements in the area of cargo theft over the last three years.
Schneider also has recently strengthened its disaster prevention and recovery program through participation in the Disaster Recovery Institute International Master Business Continuity Professional certification program. Schneider business continuity coordinator Bill Marotz was certified by the DRII this fall, bringing to a close an eight-year effort to secure certification.
C.R. England receives Thermo King Energy Efficiency Leader Award
Thermo King has awarded C.R. England with its Energy Efficiency Leader award for commitment to environmental responsibility and operational efficiency. The company is using an enhanced intermodal transportation solution that saved C.R. England and its customers more than 3.5 million gallons of fuel in 2010.
Landes Trucking honors driver with decade of safe driving
Landes Trucking recently honored Missy Hall for having 10 consecutive years of safe driving. Hall was presented with $1,000 and a gift certificate for a hotel stay and dinner at her favorite restaurant. She has worked for the company since May 2000.
Prime Inc. increases tanker driver pay
Prime Inc. is increasing tanker starting pay to 41 cents per mile for associates in the Prime Tanker Division. The company said this increase adds to a substantial list of driver benefits, including added home time, for drivers in that division.
Hornady Transportation honors driver with million-mile award
Hornady Transportation recognized Chris Jackson for reaching his million-mile mark in January with a membership in its One Million Safe Mile Club. Jackson has been with the company for 9 years.
