‘Smokey and the Bandit’ returns to big screen for 40th anniversay

Fans of “Smokey and the Bandit” can revisit the classic film on the big screen for two days this month in honor of its 40th anniversary.

It will be shown in about 700 theaters May 21 2-7 p.m. local time and May 24 2-7 p.m. local time. The screening is part of the year-long TCM Big Screen Classics series from Turner Classics Movies and Fathom Events.

Tickets for the film can be purchased from Fathom Events or at participating theater box offices. A complete list of participating theaters can be found on the Fathom Events site.
