State court ruling puts California’s ability to issue CDLs at risk
A California state court has reportedly ruled that the California DMV must allow some 17,000 non-domiciled CDL holders, whose licenses were set to be revoked, to keep their CDLs, putting the state at risk of losing $160 million and potentially its authority to issue CDLs to anyone.

President Trump called on Congress to pass the Dalilah Law, named after Dalilah Coleman, who was severely injured in a crash with an illegal immigrant truck driver in 2024. The proposed law would purportedly ban states from issuing CDLs to illegal immigrants, crack down on "chameleon carriers" and more.
