OOIDA launching new educational series for owner-ops at GATS

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association will launch a new educational series at the Great American Trucking Show in August aimed at helping truck drivers be more successful.

OOIDA’s Shift Into Success class will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The class will be free to the public, and drivers do not have to be OOIDA members to attend. No pre-registration is required for the class.

OOIDA says the class will focus on determining the cost of operations for owner-operators and small fleet owners. Company drivers can also attend if they are considering making the jump to being an owner-operator.

“Here at OOIDA, our No. 1 goal is to help drivers be more successful and more profitable in their business,” says OOIDA Executive Vice President Lewie Pugh. “That is the driving force behind this class.”

The class will be led by Pugh and Andrew King, research analyst for the OOIDA Foundation.

GATS will be held Aug. 22-24 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas. Those interested in attending can register for free online here.
