Penn., Colorado truck parking workshops with FHWA

A series of parking-focused workshops hosted by the Federal Highway Administration in collaboration with local/regional metropolitan planning organizations around the country continues tomorrow, May 30, with a focus on hearing input from stakeholders and re-emphasizing truck parking in planning for growth in transportation.

Colorado

Pennsylvania
On June 6, a 9 a.m.-3 p.m. parking workshop led by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance along with FHWA will take place in Hazelton, Pa., followed by a June 7 workshop 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at alliance headquarters at 1151 Oak Street in Pittston, Pa. Scott Grenerth of Truck Specialized Parking Services, active in the FHWA’s National Coalition on Truck Parking and who attended a recent event in this series in Pittsburgh, notes these kinds of events are exactly where experienced drivers are needed to help planners and other officials understand needs in their areas.

Further local/regional truck parking workshops are planned in a variety of areas around the country, included an event in New York City in early July.
