As the 2019 Great American Trucking Show and Pride & Polish competition approaches, Overdrive will be taking a look back at some of the winners in various categories from 2018’s Pride & Polish show in Dallas.

This week, here’s a look at the top three finishers in the Best Paint Bobtail category: a 2017 Peterbilt 389, a 1986 Freightliner FLT and a 2006 International 9900i.


First place: Kaleb Hammett’s 2017 Peterbilt 389. Best Paint is one of several categories Hammett’s Pete placed in, including winning Best of Show in the Working Bobtail class. The rig also earned first-place awards in Bobtail – 2001 and newer and Interior – Cab Only, and second place in Engine. Second place: Ed Harwell’s “Service and Sacrifice” 1988 Freightliner FLT86. In addition to picking up a second-place in Best Paint Bobtail, Harwell’s COE also earned a first-place finish in the Antique Bobtail – 1980-1990 category and a third-place finish in the Interior OEM Sleeper category.
