Ohio DPS proposes to eliminate skills test waiver requirements that state an applicant must have been a military position that requires driving a commercial vehicle in the last year and that the applicant must have operated a commercial vehicle for at least two years before leaving the military.

Fireworks haulers seek hours relief during Independence Day holiday period
The American Pyrotechnics Association has submitted a petition to add four new members to its existing hours exemption during the Independence Day holiday period. A separate fireworks hauler, Extreme Logistics, has also requested an HOS exemption for its 12 drivers during the same holiday period.

Waiver granted to SmartDrive allowing lower windshield mounting for driver assist camera
FMCSA says SmartDriveās camera housing is 3.7 inches wide by 5.2 inches tall and will be mounted in the approximate center of the windshield. The agency also received a request from Navistar for its ADAS to be mounted lower on the windshield that regulations allow.
