A parking brake issue has prompted Paccar to recall more than 1,800 Kenworth tractors, while an electrical system issue resulted in a recall of more than 5,000 vocational Peterbilt trucks, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.

Two new horsepower ratings added to Paccar MX-13 engine
The first new rating is 405-hp and 1,650 lb-ft of torque offering increased fuel efficiency for line-haul applications. The second is a multi-torque 455-hp rating with 1,650/1,850 lb-ft of torque designed for heavy-haul applications.

The recalls from Paccar, Volvo and Mack all stem from issues on trucks equipped with automated manual transmissions. In the affected trucks, an internal component in the clutch assembly could fail. Daimler Trucks and Great Dane also recently issued unrelated recalls.
