Oakley Trucking adds CSA score-based per-mile pay increase
The North Little Rock, Ark.-based dry bulk hauler will pay all new lease owner-operators an additional 10 cents-per-mile on both loaded and empty miles on top of their base pay. Drivers can keep that top bonus by not having points added to their CSA scores while leased to the company.

Top fleet introduces $50,000 bonuses, paid out over four years, for team drivers
Teams can earn up to $8,000 each year in bonuses and $4,000 in vacation time by running 60,000 miles four times over the course of a year. If the drivers choose not to take vacation time, they will be paid $500 per driver for each week of unused vacation at the end of each year.

Milan, Boyd Bros. announce driver pay increases
Milan says it will pay experienced company drivers between 40 and 50 cents-per-mile, resulting in annual earnings of $60,320 to $73,320, based on 2,500 weekly miles. Boyd Bros. drivers, beginning Feb. 27, will receive a 2 cents-per-mile bump in pay.

Report: Detention sucks over $1 billion from truckers’ wages annually, boosts crash risk
Drivers see an average annual pay loss of between $1,281 and $1,534, the report concludes, as well as potentially contributing to an extra 6,500 truck crashes each year. The DOT’s Office of Inspector General has called on FMCSA to bolster its data collection efforts around detention and its impacts.
