Pulltarps introduces five aluminum, automatic and semi-automatic tarp systems. The economy, aluminum open system is semi-automatic and is available with a full coverage or standard wind guard.

The ultimate aluminum pull-out, semi-automatic system features an aluminum housing with black-accented cast aluminum end plates, while an external spring tensioner makes adjusting the spring easy, the company says.

The aluminum, electric arm system is designed for tarping applications up to 22 feet. It comes with a standard wind guard, but a full-coverage wind guard is available.

The ultimate aluminum arm system features side-mounted arms with Pulltarps’ spiral torsion spring that handles trailers up to 40 feet long.

The rear-transfer, aluminum electric arm mounts directly inside the rear transfer trailer set. It features Pulltarps’ spiral torsion spring, and tarping transfer sets can be done from inside the cab.

All aluminum systems come with arms, springs, motor, pre-wired dash panel, safety breakers and 6-gauge wire.

Ridewell Suspensions has introduced a 25,000-pound auxiliary axle suspension for vocational trucks such as dump trucks, grain bodies, log haulers and highway tractors. The axle will work in either the pusher or tag axle position. It provides air suspension and air lift capability, but is non-steerable. Ridewell says the unit uses fewer parts, making it 82 pounds lighter than the company’s previous comparable model.

Motorized side mirrors are now available for order in Peterbilt’s low cab forward Model 320. The heated mirrors feature a flat glass mirror capable of moving in four directions, and a smaller convex mirror that is capable of rotating outward. The mirrors are manipulated by a single controller designed to operate from any cab configuration – left-hand drive, right-hand drive and dual drive.

Peterbilt now offers a single-exhaust configuration for vehicles powered by Caterpillar C10 and C12 engines. The configuration reduces weight by 100 pounds versus a dual-exhaust configuration. It features a single vertical muffler and exhaust stack mounted to the side of the cab, and a catalytic converter mounted under the cab. “This new option is ideal for tanker and other weight-sensitive applications, as well as for heated dump applications in cold climates,” says Peterbilt.

The Hect-OR-oll is a pneumatic strap-rolling unit made of heavy-duty milled aluminum. The product eliminates the need to roll flatbed straps by hand, as the unit automatically rolls the straps in 15 seconds, saving time and not creating the pain of rolling the straps by hand. The unit is powered by compressed air supplied by the tractor or trailer’s compressed air system, or by a high-torque electric motor operating off the truck’s electrical system.

The unit can be adjusted to handle two, three, and four inch wide straps. Hect-OR-oll comes installed in a selection of heavy-gage, reinforced aluminum boxes, and includes all fittings and adapters for installation on a flat bed or tractor as a step box.

Master Bond’s EP22 is a room-temperature-curing, aluminum-filled, two-component epoxy adhesive. It produces durable, high-strength bonds with outstanding adhesion to metals – particularly steel and aluminum. Bonds are resistant to thermal cycling, water and chemicals, including oil and most organic solvents.

Master Bond EP22 can be employed over the wide service operating temperature range of minus 60 degrees F to more than 250 degrees F. Curing of EP22 can be accelerated with heat. Shrinkage upon cure is low, and dimensional stability is high, the company says. It is available in pint, quart, gallon and 5-gallon containers.
