LOW-RIDE PLATFORM SLIDERS
Hendrickson’s new INTRAAX low-ride platform sliders offer the benefits of an integrated suspension system to haulers running low flatbed and drop-deck sliders. The low-ride, single-axle, AAZL 23K, and tandem, AAZL 46K, complement the top-mount single and tandem platform sliders to provide a larger selection for haulers requiring this configuration. Offered in ride heights from 6.5 to 12 inches, the AAZL tandem and single-axle systems feature a combination of a Z profile box and the INTRAAX integrated suspension system.
FLATBED FORKLIFT KIT
Transcraft Corp. has introduced a forklift kit as a factory-installed flatbed option. The kit accommodates most forklifts on the market.
REEFER UNITS IMPROVED
Thermo King has released two new refrigeration units, the MD-200 and MD-300, that combine qualities of the MD and KD units with an updated exterior. The units include the addition of the EMI-2000 filter and fluids package as standard; the package extends service intervals to 2,000 hours for oil changes and 12,000 hours for coolant. Also added is a high oil capacity compressor.
UPDATED TRUCKER’S ATLAS
Rand McNally’s new 2004 Large Scale Motor Carriers’ Road Atlas provides maps that are a third larger than standard maps. The spiral-bound atlas is printed on a synthetic paper that is water-resistant, tear-resistant and does not cause glare under low light.
TRUCK SEATS FOR DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS
Seats Inc.’s Heritage Series line has a wider cushion with four-position adjustability for extended leg support, two-way lumbar control, 15-degree recline, and 7-inch track travel. The Heritage HD targets heavy-duty work applications, providing increased side-to-side stability with its 5-inch wider suspension, a dual shock system, and reinforced suspension. The Heritage LO (low-profile suspension) targets low-rider applications such as Class 6 and Class 7 trucks, providing 3 inches of suspension stroke and a feature that minimizes topping and bottoming out.
XM SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVER
XM Satellite Radio has introduced the XMCommander, a new receiver that works with any AM/FM car stereo regardless of make, brand or year. The XMCommander package includes a compact controller with display screen, an XM Micro Antenna, a remote control, and a small tuner box. The receiver has a two-line display, direct channel entry and 30 channel pre-sets.
SEALED PLUG PROTECTS WIRING
Phillips Industries’ new QCP (Quick Connect Plug) assembly has molded connectors that block contaminants such as magnesium chloride and other invasive winter de-icing chemicals from entering the front and rear of the plug, thereby improving electrical performance. The QCP features a replaceable cartridge with floating, machined brass pins that insert into a completely sealed cable.
FILTER LINE SERVES FOUR BRANDS
ConocoPhillips Co.’s new oil and air filter line, Pit Stop, serves the company’s four premier brands: Conoco, Phillips 66, 76 Lubricants and Kendall Motor Oil. ConocoPhillips worked with ArvinMeritor to develop the universal brand of filters, which are manufactured by Purolator.
Old World Industries’ Final Charge Global Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze is formulated for use in all heavy-duty engines. Final Charge features an organic acid technology formula that eliminates the need for supplemental coolant additives, and lasts at least 600,000 miles with one extender, the company says. The product is free of silicate, nitrite, borate, amine and phosphate.
