Great-Looking Rigs

Still kicking
This truck – with its 425-hp Caterpillar engine – was retired after 2 million miles, but Ron “Ole” Fossum still hauls chip sealing material into Yellowstone National Park with his 1981 Kenworth W900A. About five years ago Fossum customized it by replacing the sleeper with a Transtuff dump box.

Going for the green
Rob Scarf purchased his 1999 Kenworth T2000, powered by a 550-hp Caterpillar, in 1999 and since then has driven more than 920,000 miles hauling air freight. Scarf has added several touches: Apple-green flames on some of the windows and fuel tanks; neon green lights on the truck’s underside and inside the cab.
