Diesel dips 0.7-cent

Ifta Tag OdFor only the second week since last November, the national average retail price of diesel dropped during the week ended April 25, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. The national average dipped 0.7-cent to $4.098, but remains $1.02 higher than a year ago.

Most regions decreased slightly, led by a 1.4-cent decline on the West Coast. California slipped 0.2-cent to $4.438, the nation’s highest. The Rocky Mountain, New England and Central Atlantic areas reported small increases.

The national average price is at its highest level since Sept. 1, 2008, when it was $4.121 a gallon. The record diesel price was $4.764 in July 2008.
