TransAlive USA’s AmCoach has been dispatched to Joplin, Mo., as a command center for truckers working recovery and debris removal following the tornado.
AmCoach provides services for drivers working disasters. This includes food, counseling provided by chaplains, sleeping accommodations for volunteers, and communication and coordinating with the Red Cross and local agencies.
TransAlive said residents need cleaning materials, tarps and heavy plastic in recovering from the May 22 tornado.
The non-profit organization has been helping drivers and their families for 38 years. More than 130 trucking companies use TransAlive’s services to help truckers on the road with a volunteer base of about 100,000 people.
Other TransAlive assistance includes providing food and medical aid to drivers facing financial hardship and Overseeing the National Day of Prayer for Truckers.
