Diesel price drops 2.1 cents

For only the second time in 12 weeks the national average price of diesel was lower than in the week before. The average price dropped 2.1 cents to $4.127 a gallon during the week ended Monday, April 16, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. Prices are, on average, 2.2 cents higher than the same week last year.

Average prices fell in all regions except in Rocky Mountain states where they were flat. The largest decrease was 3.4 cents in the Midwest, where prices remain the nation’s lowest on average at $4.021 a gallon. The smallest decrease was two-tenths of a cent in the Central Atlantic region. The nation’s most expensive diesel on average remains that in California at $4.418 a gallon.
