The state of Kentucky issued an advisory to highway users that lane closures on I-75 in Whitley County were scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 25. Crews will be performing pavement maintenance operations on SB I-75 from the Laurel/Whitley County line (MM 27.9) to the Tennessee line. Lane closures will be in place on southbound I-75 each day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time for three weeks.
Crews will also be performing pavement repairs on NB I-75 between MM 24 and 24.5. Alternating lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25 and Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The welcome center/rest area in Whitley County on I-75 NB, additionally, at MM 1 near the Tennessee line will be closed Tuesday, September 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure is necessary for maintenance operations, the state notes.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
