I-20 in Jackson, Miss., closing next two weeks
Mississippi Department of Transportation crews will close I-20 for much of the next two weeks for a bridge rehabilitation project over Lynch Creek in Jackson, between exits 42 and 43. The eastbound lanes of the interstate will close from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, for five days through 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. The westbound lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

MDOT says freight traffic will be directed onto I-220 to detour around the I-20 closures. Work during the closures will consist of removing and replacing sections of the eastbound and westbound bridge decks.
