Daimler recalls 600 Freightliner, Western Star trucks over steering wheel issue
The recall affects approximately 622 model year 2019 Freightliner Cascadia and 2019 Western Star 5700 trucks manufactured between July 9 and Aug. 2, 2018. The steering wheels on these trucks may loosen over time and detach from the steering column.

KeepTruckin expects to invest $3.6 million in Middle Tennessee, creating approximately 385 jobs in the Nashville area, over the next three years, it says. The company provides the KeepTruckin electronic logging device and associated services.

Kenworth adds refreshed interior for T680, intros new fuel economy package
Early next year, Kenworth will make available for order a Paccar Powertrain Fuel Economy Package, which will include an MX-13 engine with a new 405-hp at 1,650 lb-ft torque rating. Kenworth, also set for trucks under production next year, is adding new interior colors and stylings on its on-highway Kenworth T680.

Federal investigators have found violations of cabotage rules by U.S. companies and foreign drivers otherwise engaged in cross-border trucking operations. Those rules prevent foreign nationals in the U.S. on B-1 business-visitor visas from competing with U.S. truckers on loads moving point to point in the United States.
