The new ordinance in Midland gives business owners the ability to prohibit truck parking on their property with enforcement provided by the city. The ordinance allows the city to fine truckers parked in posted no parking zones on commercial property up to $500.

The American Transportation Research Institute, a non-profit research arm of ATA, announced Wednesday it is looking for fleets and owner-operators to share logging data from their ELDs in hopes of creating a database. The group says the data will be kept anonymous.

Virginia infrastructure plan could include tolls on I-81
The draft plan includes tolling both passenger cars and commercial trucks in âtime of dayâ tolling that would charge higher rates at peak travel times and lower rates overnight. The study calls for charging commercial trucks 17 cents per mile, which would be $55.25 to cross the entire state across I-81.

KMEG-TV reports Martin Hughes was driving through Sioux City, Iowa, on Oct. 18 when he saw a woman and two of her children on the side of the road flagging him down. Hughes, who is from Nebraska, stopped and was told there were two other children inside a burning home.
