With Overdrive‘s September 50th anniversary issue hard on the way, and considering folks at the Great American Trucking Show got a sneak peak at the 50 top technical milestones John Baxter and oiur editorial crew put together, I thought I’d offer up a little for you. You’ll recall our all-time top ten trucking songs, of course, a nice collection of tunes from the golden age.

Meredith Chris Color Promo Photo Copy 3While the classics garner recognition in the all-time list, trucking music rolls on, of course, with the long haul a theme in all manner of artists’ songs. Meredith Ochs and Chris T., hosts of the Freewheelin‘ show on SiriusXM’s Road Dog Trucking Radio, Channel 106, put together an alternate top 10 comprising songs from 1985 forward, with an emphasis on more recent tunes. The alternate top 10  here will be featured in the anniversary issue’s Roadside Attractions front section. Keep an eye out for it in a digital edition via Overdrive‘s website, or in subscribers’ mailboxes, but of course. Click on the links below to purchase and download copies of the tunes, where available, and enjoy the couple vids, too.
