With this giant birthday cake, Women in Trucking members and others gathered at the Dallas Convention Center at the Great American Trucking Show for a celebration of five years late yesterday afternoon. The organization has grown from an initial group of 13 women in 2007 pulled together to promote women’s place in the industry — to more than 2,000 members male and female today, representatives said.
Among happenings at the member and new-member event were a raffle of items donated by sponsors as well as brief talks by Influential Woman of the Year Joyce Brenny of Brenny Specialized and Laura Roan, a sales director with Hyundai Translead and WIT board member, who told her trucking story in the following video to me.
