The TomTom navigation and mapping products provider and M2M DataSmart, a wireless data service provider, announced a solution to provide electronic logging device functionality with the TomTom Bridge, an in-truck toolbox with mount and power cable, a vehicle-specific connector, and a subscription to the Hours of Service app from M2M DataSmart.

Two new guidelines from FMCSA on ELDs: Older devices that buy carriers’ time but aren’t long-term compliance options for the mandate can be transferred to a new truck and operators will have eight days to deploy a compliant device if their ELD is found to be non-compliant.
