Attitude the key to roadside inspections, says CVSA head, who pushes inspections’ effectiveness
Clean roadside inspections and overall safety success depend on good company culture, says CVSA head Stephen Keppler. The average amount of downtime for a truck placed out of service in a roadside inspection is 8.5 hours, Keppler said, which can have a “significant impact” on a trucking business.

Diesel price down nearly 30 cents a gallon since early July
The national average price for a gallon of on-highway diesel fell another 1.2 cents in the week ended Nov. 3 to $3.623, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly report, as the country’s diesel price remains at a near four-year low.
