Owner-operators Edward Mark Tricco and Glen Horack are competing for a $25,000 prize to be awarded in March to the Owner-Operator of the Year by the Truckload Carriers Association and Overdrive.
In the other part of the annual Driver of the Year Contest, TCA and Truckers News will award $25,000 to the Company Driver of the Year. The finalists are Guy Broderick, Danny Smith and David McGowan.
The awards, sponsored by Cummins and Love’s Travel Stops, recognize drivers who have driven safely, enhanced the image of trucking and served their communities.
The five finalists will receive an expense-paid trip to TCA’s annual meeting, March 6-9, in Las Vegas, where the winners will be announced. The two runners-up in each division will win $2,500.
Overdrive will profile the winning owner-operator. Truckers News will profile the winning company driver.
