Winter Edit 800x590 Overdrive‘s own Wendy Parker sent in this photo from frigid Colby, Kan., late yesterday, where high winds, freezing temps and no small amount of snow prompted authorities to close I-70 all the way west to the state line. “We’re stuck like Chuck,” she said, after shutting done ahead of the worst of the storm.

A winter weather advisory for near-blizzard conditions remains in effect through noon today for the lower Missouri River Valley, with accumulations of 2-5 inches possible through Central and Eastern Missouri through the morning hours. The system is expected to move up through the Great Lakes region and to the Northeast today.
