New FMCSA guidance on HOS ag exemption, rear impact guard labels
FMCSA clarified that a missing rear impact guard certification label does not warrant a violation. The agency also clarified when an "exempt" ag hauler can receive an HOS violation. Also: Fleet's under-21 waiver request denied; Iowa 80 grant recipients.

'Revert to paper logs or logging software': FMCSA revokes certifications of 4 ELDs
One device from Columbus ELD and three devices from MasterELD were removed from FMCSA's list of registered ELDs. Carriers are asked to stop using the devices and revert to paper/logging software, then replace them with compliant devices by Feb. 9.

Court rules Rhode Island can reinstate truck tolls -- without daily caps
The U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a district court's ruling that a portion of the RhodeWorks trucks-only toll plan is unconstitutional. Whether tolls will be reinstated without unconstitutional provisions is now a matter of debate.
