OOIDA: Speed limiter rule comment period too short
The owner-operator trade group says its members need more than the current 60-day comment period to âadequately respondâ to regulators proposed rule to require trucks weighing more than 27,000 pounds to use a speed governor that limits truck speeds to an undetermined speed, likely 60, 65 or 68 mph.

Final version of entry-level driver training rule moves closer to publication

It also required at least 30 hours behind the wheel before a CDL could be issued.

OOIDA in latest legal filing: ELD mandate too costly, too intrusive
OOIDA again argues in its latest brief the rule violates truckersâ 4th Amendment protections against illegal search and seizures and does not meet Congressâ requirements for the rule. The group also argues the mandate still opens the door for truckers to be harassed by their employers via the devices and does not stand up to a cost benefit analysis.
