Drivers convicted of human trafficking to receive lifetime CDL ban
Following President Trump’s signature of the No Human Trafficking on Our Roads Act, FMCSA’s new rule will prohibit an individual from operating a commercial vehicle for life if that person uses a commercial vehicle in committing a felony involving severe human trafficking.

Alabama passes law to add human trafficking training to CDL school curriculum
The Alabama legislature passed on May 31 a bill that mandates trade schools, junior colleges and private truck driving schools to add human trafficking training to their curriculum. According to Truckers Against Trafficking, Alabama will be the 11th state to require human trafficking training for upcoming CDL holders.

Truckers Against Trafficking receives $162,000 from ‘Everyday Heroes’ Kenworth auction
The Everyday Heroes truck, featuring TAT-themed graphics, was auctioned by Ritchie Bros. in Phoenix on Friday, May 17. Stewart Transport, a Phoenix-based company that specializes in refrigerated and dry van freight, placed the winning bid for the truck.

Throughout January and February, TA-Petro sold TAT merchandise with $1 of every item sold going to TAT. The total amount donated to TAT was $112,946.

The nonprofit organization Truckers Against Trafficking will broadcast a press conference from the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, January 15 at 10 a.m. EST. The event introduces the “Everyday Heroes” Kenworth T680 specially custom-designed to be auctioned later this year, with proceeds going to benefit TAT.
