Alabama passes law to add human trafficking training to CDL school curriculum
The Alabama legislature passed on May 31 a bill that mandates trade schools, junior colleges and private truck driving schools to add human trafficking training to their curriculum. According to Truckers Against Trafficking, Alabama will be the 11th state to require human trafficking training for upcoming CDL holders.

The Everyday Heroes truck, featuring TAT-themed graphics, was auctioned by Ritchie Bros. in Phoenix on Friday, May 17. Stewart Transport, a Phoenix-based company that specializes in refrigerated and dry van freight, placed the winning bid for the truck.

Colorado adds human trafficking prevention training to CDL requirements
New CDL applicants in Colorado will be required to complete a 30-minute training session by Truckers Against Trafficking at no extra cost in order to obtain their license. CDL schools in the state will be required to include the training as part of the overall CDL course.

The proceeds from the auction will go directly to TAT, which works to âeducate, mobilize and empowerâ truckers and rest stop employees to look for signs of human trafficking and teach them how to respond. The truck has a retail value of $157,000, according to Kenworth.
