In a bid for national attention to driver issues, today a small group of truckers banded together in Lexington, Ky., with support from an Andrew Yang campaign-supporting Super PAC to display Yang support around a Trump rally. They invited Trump-supporting truckers to fly their banners, too.

VIDEO: Soeth runs independent with authority out of Frederick, Md., to points mostly Chicago and east. From That’s a Big 10-4 on D.C. on the National Mall in Washington, he gives a window into his history, extending back to his time in high school, when he met an independent running LTL reefer leased who agreed to bring Soeth on as a helper to show him the ropes of backing, loading, unloading, learning slowly how to operate in the process.

The upshot of the four-days-later post-mortem on That’s a Big 10-4 on D.C. — time will tell as to whether the second-annual event served as proof of the concept for those outside of the organizers as a gathering that serves as public outreach and awareness vehicle, as a neutral platform for individual owner-ops and drivers to represent themselves.

South Dakota slow roll supporting ’10-4 on D.C.’ successful despite low turnout
Jeremy Johnson and Shawn McIntosh organized the South Dakota event through their Facebook group, The Disrespected Trucker. The seven drivers that showed up at the Countryside Travel Plaza along I-29 near Sioux Falls slow rolled a total of 268 miles on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Owner-ops voice concerns, fellowship at 10-4 on D.C. on National Mall
Participation in the event this year was down slightly from last year, but the makings of a successful event are well in hand. Participating owner-operators and drivers will be parked on the mall through early Saturday, followed by a convoy back for some R&R at the fairgrounds in Fredericksburg, Va.
