10 families receive Trucker Charity funds

Ten trucker families from the United States and Canada received $700 each in this year’s Trucker Charity Christmas Group fundraiser.

The 10 families were selected from among 23 nominations received for needy trucking families.
Since the all-volunteer Christmas group was formed in 2008 more than $37,000 has been raised and distributed to 59 needy trucking families in the U.S. and Canada. The money is raised from donations by truck drivers and trucking related vendors and businesses.

After the success of the first fund drive, group member Lance Wood founded Trucker Charity Inc., a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps truck drivers throughout the year. Trucker Charity helps truck drivers with life coaching and job placement programs and specializes in assisting stranded drivers. All donations are used to provide assistance to truck drivers.
