A busy month of July for the Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series truck racers concludes this weekend with the racers’ busiest weekend of the year that includes a double-header with a race on Saturday and Sunday.

The first race of the weekend will be held Saturday, July 28, at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in La Crosse, Wis., which will offer a full day of events for fans. Then on Sunday, July 29, the Bandits will make the three-and-a-half hour drive south to finish what they started last month at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Cedar Rapids race was postponed halfway through the night’s schedule due to weather.

Fans attending the La Crosse race can enjoy the Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show all day Saturday, followed by a Bandit meet and greet from 4-6 p.m. Racing action will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday evening. Tickets for the race are $25 for adults and free for children under 8 years old.

The race at Hawkeye Downs Speedway will consist of the two challenge races and the feature race and will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday. All tickets from the originally scheduled June 9 race will be honored.

Five races into the 10-race 2018 schedule, defending series champion Ricky “Rude” Proffitt leads the points standings with one win and four top five finishes. Mark Noble, Tyler Kruckeberg, Allen Boles and Marshall Davis round out the top five in the standings going into the second half of the season.
