The 40th annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree drew a crowd of approximately 45,000 truck drivers, families and local residents this past weekend, July 11-13, at the Iowa 80 Truckstop.
Visitors came from 19 states and Canada to display their trucks, show organizers say, with drivers from Arizona, Texas and New York traveling the farthest.
There were 76 contestants in the Super Truck Beauty Contest, an antique truck display with more than 100 trucks, an Iowa pork chop cookout, Trucker Olympics, free concerts and more.
Keith Williams and his 2018 Volvo VNL 760 and 2018 Utility reefer, nicknamed “USA,” picked up the award for Best Overall Theme in the show, with Dan Brubaker’s 2003 Peterbilt 379, “Opening Act,” winning the Trucker’s Choice award.
There were winners in 28 other categories at the show, including Matt Schleuger’s 1993 Kenworth K100E winning in the Working Truck Cabover category; Danny Autullo’s 1993 Peterbilt 379, “Lawless,” winning the Rat Rod category; and more.
