Ohio-based heavy equipment operator James Green hunts down the inspiration for his late fatherâs 1971 Autocarâs paint scheme in a 1980 Overdrive issue, and donates his grandfatherâs 1974 Diamond Reo, his final truck, to the Iowa 80 trucking museum. The TruckPark app currently allows drivers to reserve parking at 13 truck stops in and around Chicago, Cleveland, New York City, Atlanta, Dallas and Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Company COO and co-founder Joshua Walls said TruckPark will soon be expanding to additional locations.

The chapter looks to raise $500,000 this year with the event, which it achieved last year by raising $501,387 with 539 truck drivers participating in the convoy and fundraiser.Drivers who wish to participate in Sundayâs event can still register online with a minimum $100 donation.

Truck driver Donald Wood got out of his truck and crossed the road, where he found a small pickup truck with a camper trailer stuck in a snowdrift. Inside the pickup was an elderly man and his dog.

Flames were coming from underneath the hood of the car, so Gubaci pulled over to the shoulder, grabbed his fire extinguisher and rushed over to put out the fire, which was between the motor and the firewall.

Louisiana-based trucker named Highway Angel for helping ejected crash victims
Christopher Lemaire, of Erath, Louisiana, and a driver for Revere Transportation, is a former highway patrol officer who witnessed a crash on Feb. 11 along I-35 in Kansas. He saw a car skidding out of control, which hit a culvert in the median, sending it airborne.

Trucker recognized after preventing accident when student driver passed out at wheel
The student driver had been driving well, but began complaining about not feeling well. He later passed out at the wheel, and Demetrice Reeves was able to slow the truck down and pull the student out of the driverâs seat to take over and get the truck stopped safely.

As he noted with the video entry in Ovedriveâs âDashcam Centralâ repository for reader-submitted dash vids, the âroad was closed for emergency repairs, but evidently itâs OK to pass on the shoulder if youâre behind an ambulance.â

Driver named Highway Angel for stopping to help after witnessing crash
Melby Millirans was driving north on I-75 out of Ocala, Florida, when he saw an SUV ahead of him veer toward the guardrail, then swerve sharply to the right and run off the road, down a steep embankment and crash into a row of trees. He stopped, called 911 and grabbed a flashlight to go help.
