Josh Skidmore’s 2007 Peterbilt 379Bill Rethwisch, winner of the 2013 Pride & Polish National Championship in the Working Combo category, won Best of Show at the PDI event this weekend. Rethwisch also won Best of Show at the Crossville, Tenn.-based Fitzgerald Glider Kits’ Pride & Polish show in June. Rethwisch was also featured on the cover of the October Overdrive.
Another 2013 Pride & Polish national champion, Josh Skidmore, picked up a Best of Show victory in the Limited-Mileage Combo category. Skidmore won the National Championship in the Working Bobtail category after qualifying for the championship judging round by winning Best of Show at the Las Vegas-held Great West Truck Show in June.
Perennial Pride & Polish contender — and former P&P National Champion — Isaac Aguilar of Sandvik Trucking won Best of Show with the company’s 2005 Peterbilt 379, which won the Pride & Polish National Championship in 2011 in the Working Bobtail category. The Valley Center, Calif.-based Sandvik Trucking has also picked up several Best of Show victories with its 1992 Peterbilt 379 “Still Deliriouz”.
Paul Marcotte of Momence, Ill., won Best of Show in the Limited-Mileage Bobtail category with his 1999 Peterbilt 379.
All four of the Best of Show winners qualify to compete in the 2014 Overdrive‘s Pride & Polish National Championship finals — a special judging round held at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas each August to pick the four national champions.
