Goodbye, AOBRD: ELDs’ final shift
90 days out from the ELD mandate’s final Dec. 17 deadline, many fleets and one-truck owner-operators with authority are delaying the transition from AOBRD-spec technology. ELD providers are hopeful for new customers among the small percentages of truckers switching providers during the transition.

In ATRI survey, drivers report longer, more frequent detention at shippers/receivers
Respondents to the study indicated that more than a quarter of their dwell times within the year leading up to taking the survey lasted two or more hours, with 9.3% of delays lasting six or more hours. Both of these are increases from 2014, according to ATRI’s numbers.

Hours edits: Drivers in full control with ELDs
Office edits to a log, unlike with many AOBRD systems, will go to the driver for final approval under the ELD spec. Survey results show some carriers and drivers clearly appreciate the ability with many AOBRDs to bypass any driver-approval step in the log-edit chain.
