TCA names 20 Best Fleets to Drive For

Twenty trucking companies from across North America have been named the 2013 Best Fleets to Drive For by the Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge. The annual survey and contest, now in its fifth year, identifies for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for their drivers.

This year’s winners are: Brian Kurtz Trucking Ltd. in Breslau, Ontario; Erb Group of Companies in New Hamburg, Ontario; Fremont Contract Carriers in Fremont, Neb.; FTC Transportation, Inc. in Oklahoma City; Gordon Trucking, Inc. in Pacific, Wash.; Grand Island Express in Grand Island, Neb.; Halvor Lines, Inc. in Superior, Wis.; Landstar System, Inc. in Jacksonville, Fla.; Load One Transportation & Logistics in Taylor, Mich.; Motor Carrier Service, Inc. in Northwood, Ohio; Paramount Freight Systems in Jeffersonville, Ohio; Sammons Trucking in Missoula, Mont.; Spirit Truck Lines, Inc. in San Juan, Texas; Steed Standard Transport Ltd. from Stratford, Ontario; Steelman Transportation in Springfield, Mo.; Tennant Truck Lines, Inc. in Colona, Ill.; TimeLine Logistic International in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Trimac Transportation in Calgary, Alberta; WTI Transport in Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and Yanke Group of Companies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

In addition, five companies have been identified as “Fleets to Watch” (honorable mentions) for demonstrating innovation in their driver programs. They are: Celadon Canada in Kitchener, Ontario; Farm2Fleet in Gibson City, Ill.; Freight Exchange of North America, LLC in Chicago; Prime Inc. in Springfield, Mo.; and Transpro Freight Systems Ltd. in Milton, Ontario.

The winners from the Best Overall Fleet for Owner Operators and Best Overall Fleet for Company Drivers categories will be honored at the TCA Annual Convention, March 3-6, at the Wynn Las Vegas in Las Vegas.
