Missouri to focus on I-44 traffic enforcement

Missouri law enforcement will focus its High Enforcement Action Teams on I-44 Sept. 17-18.

Drivers will see more law enforcement officers on I-44 from 6 a.m. Sept. 17 to 6 a.m. Sept. 18. Extra enforcement will also span across Missouri.

Last year’s 24-hour I-44 enforcement project resulted in 1,081 traffic citations, including 45 seat belt tickets, 393 speeding tickets and six driving while intoxicated arrests. Three felony and 11 drug arrests were also made.

The state also announced the opening of a new weigh station on eastbound I-44 at St. Clair.
