Navistar recalls 21,000 International trucks over transmission issue
The company is recalling approximately 20,916 trucks with Eaton Electronic Clutch Actuation clutches.Navistar says an internal component in the clutch assembly may fail, possibly resulting in unintended vehicle movement. Great Dane is also recalling some Freedom drop deck trailers with rear impact guard issues.

Food Drop is a program developed by the Indy Hunger Network that is meant to benefit both truck drivers with rejected food loads, as well as food banks across Indiana. Judge rules drivers should be paid minimum wage for all hours worked — including sleeper berth time
The judge’s Oct. 19 opinion says that drivers’ total compensation, once divided by the total number of hours worked, should equal at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. However, the ruling only affects this case and doesn’t have a direct impact on the industry’s per-mile pay model.

Hot peppers! Load of jalapeños goes up in flames on Houston highway
This tractor-trailer caught fire on U.S. Highway 59 in Houston, according to the local KHOU 11. It was carrying boxed jalapeños, which, according to the report, were salvaged. The driver reportedly was safe in the incident. The cause of the fire was not reported.
