New union agreement ends UAW strike that halted Mack, Volvo truck production
Mack said the strike was scheduled to end at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, and that the company will bring UAW-represented employees “back to work as soon as possible.” Its facilities will return to full production within days, Mack said.

Fatalities in truck crashes increased slightly in 2018 while overall deaths across modes decreased
According to NHTSA, there were 4,951 people killed in crashes involving large trucks, up from 4,905 in 2017 (a 0.9% increase). There were 885 large truck occupants killed in crashes, along with 4,066 occupants of other vehicles and non-occupants (pedestrians and cyclists).
