Mack Travel ChannelThe Made in America series will feature Mack Trucks in an episode Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. Mack continues to build every truck it sells in North America — and every truck it exports — in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania. Made in America host George Motz (pictured with a Mack Pinnacle tractor) and a Travel Channel video crew made their way to Bulldog country and, in the episode, will get up close and personal with technicians at the Mack Macungie Assembly Operations facility.

Motz actually tries his hand at a variety of operations, with varying degrees of success. A highlight is when he takes a shot at installing the famous Bulldog hood ornament that rides on the hood of every Mack truck.

“George actually did quite well,” said John Walsh, Mack director of public relations. “But we made sure our folks were close by — nothing left to chance when it comes to delivering a quality product.  In the end, everyone had a lot of fun.” Walsh added the company’s been looking forward to seeing the show itself.

How bout you?

You may recall Mack CEO Denny Slagle’s appearance on Undercover Boss earlier in the year, when he dispelled rumors of a move of part of the company’s operations out of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. I wrote about that on the blog here, also featured in the April 2011 edition of Overdrive (pictured below).
