Walcott Truckers Jamboree kicks off July 12

The 39th annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree at the Iowa 80 Truckstop will feature a Super Truck Beauty Contest, antique trucks, an Iowa pork chop cookout, Trucker Olympics, live music, fireworks and more.

The event is scheduled for next weekend, July 12-14. Admission and parking for the show are free, and shuttles will be provided from the parking area to the event grounds.

Attendees will get to enjoy music from country artist Logan Mize on Thursday, July 12. Local band Dani Lynn Howe and Band will open for Mize at 5 p.m. On Friday, July 13, Grammy and CMA winning group The Kentucky Headhunters will perform, with local band North of 40 opening for them at 5:30 p.m. Finally, country up-and-comer Eric Chesser will perform Saturday, July 14, from 1-3 p.m.

In addition to the truck show and other events, the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum will celebrate the 100th birthday of its 1918 Independent, which was built in Davenport, Iowa.
