SuperTruck, Round 2: Dept. of Energy wants to give truck makers another $80M to raise fuel economy bar
The DOE says SuperTruck II will utilize a variety of truck and trailer technology approaches to achieve performance targets, such as improvements in engine efficiency, drivetrain efficiency, aerodynamic drag, tire rolling resistance and vehicle weight. The goal is to double fuel economy of the most efficient tractor-trailer from 2009.
