Big learning curve with Ford F-150 Lightning range recalculations
From road trip to city driving and towing, the Ford F-150 Lightning is constantly at work determining range averages based on your driving habits, weather conditions, HVAC use, stereo, headlights...the list goes on and mostly does not work in your favor.
January 11, 2023
Towing took a big chunk out of range in the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. We started out with 288 miles following a 100% charge. After inputting trailer data, range dropped to 164 miles. After hitting the road, range recalculated and left us with 124 miles to tow a 7,000 lb. load. Obviously, if you're regularly towing out of town, you'd have to seriously rethink Lightning. However, it's so inexpensive to fuel this truck and maintain it that you want to make it work, and for some, that could very well happen.

Rumors of the death of the 24.5 tire have been greatly exaggerated
That doesn't necessarily mean sourcing difficulties, particularly for 24.5s in low-profile sizes, will get better fast. Production of the 24.5 took something of a backseat to the more widespread 22.5 over the course of the pandemic's supply chain snarls.
