South Korean TruckersAn estimated 80 percent of the 380,000 total South Korean truckers were reported to have gone on strike “demanding the introduction of standard freight charges, a 30 percent rise in transportation fees and revised laws on labour rights,” reported the (you’re hearing right) Irish Trucker Magazine. News travels faster than on-highway rigs, eh?

Platts reports the truckers are striking over high fuel prices, demanding further government subsidies. According to the Korea Herald, the stoppage comes on the heels of a nationwide shutdown by taxi drivers last Wednesday over similar issues.
